With lots of games and different courses in the woodlands around Gower, orienteering is a fantastic activity for becoming in sync with your surroundings. Whilst navigation and map reading skills are a great way to explore the rolling hills and mountains we are blessed with in South Wales.
Our sessions are suitable for newcomers, those polishing up skills, or for those working towards leadership awards and qualifications.
What’s involved?
Map reading skills allow you to really get to understand and explore your surroundings seeing places in a completely new way. Learn how to orientate a map, walk on a bearing, and successfully plot a course – it’s a great feeling and something that a GPS app can’t give you.
Can I do it?
Orienteering is suitable for most people and we can cater sessions to match people’s abilities and levels of experience. Our instructors hold national governing body qualifications and are first aid qualified to ensure participants safety and enjoyment.
What do I need to bring?
- Tracksuit type bottoms
- Warm top (long sleeve)
- Gloves
- Trainers or boots
- Waterproof jacket
- Drink
- Medications eg. sunscreen, asthma pump
- Packed lunch (dependent on plans for the day)
- Weather appropriate clothing

Can I have more than one session?
Yes, you could book a block of 4 sessions which will allow you to experience a range of routes and take part in leading some of your final sessions (the price per lesson drops to £40 when booking 4 lessons).
